Hi y’all! Ok, here’s test episode number 3! This is kind of a slow week musically but even on slow weeks it seems like there’s still a ton to talk about out in Chattanooga music. The list of shows we looked at are above and we talked a pretty good bit about a few different local artists. I personally was in discover mode. A few months back I was approached by a local band whose name I’d heard but hadn’t listened to, mainly because they were outside of my ‘genre’. Dolphin Group asked if I’d be willing to open their next album release show at Songbirds. I immediately said yes, I love going off into the unknown musically and this seemed to be another opportunity to, at the very least, have a musical adventure. That show is coming up and in preparation I started listening to a lot of Dolphin Group songs. I was instantly ticked off at myself for not having discovered this crew earlier and now DG is one of my favorite bands to listen to in the truck. In this same spirit, the podcast had me in my local music discovery mode this week. I found some really great bands in town and getting the chance to talk about them with Joel was something I was really looking forward to. He really gets excited about new fun stuff and his reactions get me excited to tell him!. We’re working on our excitement issues together. We’ve been trying out a few different things on this episode and I kind of feel like we are really honing in on how we can best format it, how we can work a schedule for it, how we can keep going, how we can best serve our community, and what it’s going to take to make it happen. I cannot even put into words how grateful I am for Jakey Lutsko! He’s done an unreal amount of work on this and his eye and ear have really made ETB what it is. OK, we all love each other and hopefully this doesn’t suck. Here’s Test Episode 3
